The Decisive Treatise in Response to Those Who Altered the Religion of Christ
Ibn Taymiyyah’s Al-Jawāb al-Ṣaḥīḥ is the most extensive surviving Muslim response to Christian doctrine from the medieval Islamic world. Written in Damascus in the early eighth/fourteenth century, it is also a wide-ranging study of prophecy, revelation, scripture, theology, reason, and religious history.
Volume 1 addresses Christian doctrine, scripture, and prophecy. The critical English edition is designed to distinguish the author’s arguments, the claims of his interlocutors, and what the historical record can establish.
